Juliana Delgado Lopera, a GWS alumnae was just recognized by the San Francisco Foundation for her creative writing with her manuscript Fiebre Tropical (Tropical Fever).  This award is intended to encourage emerging writers and comes with a $2,000 cash prize.  Winning manuscripts will be permanently housed at The Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley. Works of winners have also been brought together in an anthology, Writing Home: Award-Winning Literature from the New West, edited by Jackson Awardee Brian Bouldrey.
